Just to set the record straight

Lest any of you guys start to think that Chicago is turning me into one of Those mothers, take heart - we actually got a free picture out of the whole deal (and no entry fee!).

Hey, so thought I'd give a brief update on the whole finding, you know, a place to live. We had - a lovely one. Townhouse, cute little river town, short commute to Mike's work, Great Yard - lovely. Originally we were supposed to close in Midlandia on July 25 and up here on the 27 (or something). The day of that closing our buyer's financing fell through. Yup, the day of! Everyone in Midland scrambled to get her a new loan and, long story short, bent over backwards to help her (including realtors forgiving their fee kind of stuff). So, after several more closing dates fell through, we were Assured by her new lender that the loan would go through on Monday (Aug. 6); we were set to close up here on Tuesday. I'm, of course, dreaming about paint color and furniture arrangement - not to mention starting my life up here when...word comes that the loan fell through Monday afternoon. And, its over. Done. And we're still living with my parents with no real end in sight. To top it all off, our buyer is requesting to receive like half of the earnest money - blah, blah, bah, insult to injury - and we're pretty discouraged. So, if anyone knows of anyone in need of a great little house...

And I so know that God's got a plan for us in this. I Know that we were not meant to be in that townhouse. Know it. I just really look forward to 6 months from now when our house is sold and we are settled in a home or, more likely, apartment and have a bit more perspective on what God has in mind with all of this.
