Clara's Birthday!

Mike: Clara, how old are you?
Clara: I'm one!
Mike: No, you're Two! Say, I'm two!
Clara: I'm two! I a big girl.

We did this over and over and over yesterday. I'm not sure she gets it, but, luckily, we have a whole entire year to work on it. Sweet Clara is two - can you Believe it?! I Know. Such a big girl. I could spend some time being sentimental about these last couple of years with our kidlet, but I think I'll send up a huge praise to God for giving us Clara. What a gracious and loving Father to bestow upon our little family a Clara. Such a picture of love. Praise Him!

Mike took yesterday off from work, which was really sweet seeing as he's doing two jobs (they haven't replaced his old position yet) and is swamped with a concert coming up this weekend. We were planning on zooing it with my folks, but it was a Rainy day. We ended up at the library, followed by a special lunch out at Benedict's (is it wrong to take Clara out to birthday lunch at my favorite place?), then home for presents. Nap. Then, playing with presents and cake. And, scattered throughout the day was lots of Dancing. Clara was all about dancing yesterday. All in all, a fun and laid back birthday.

an example of the aforementioned dancing - this time with baby and mini lunch box in hand

playing at the library

cooking with Grammie - little did Clara know that waiting at home was her Very Own kitchen and play food!

Awesome...pipe cleaners. My sweet mom cleaned out all the art supplies she could find at Michael's. I'm anticipating a long, cold winter and wanted to stock up on art stuff.

laying on her fake food - so weird, but Clara Loves laying on this box - even without the food in it! Two toys in one!

waiting for Cake! you can see Sadie in the background hoping to catch a crumb. Just you wait, sweet Sadie...

So fun! She is so grown up!! I love all the pictures! We had Taylor's 2nd birthday party last week too..... she kept saying "I two, I two." I started this 2 months ago in anticipation of her birthday. When asked how old we were, "TWO!" So fun!!
