pen pals and horsing around

It was my hope that when we left Chicago, Clara would have a good, old-fashioned pen pal. Like, send letters and pictures in the mail - the Real Mail - for years and years. Well, we have the starting of one, friends, and we are both so excited. Clara received her First Pen Pal letter in the mail and, oh my!, was she excited! To get a real letter from a Favorite friend (sweet John) with a stamp and everything. Pretty much awesome. Here she is decorating the card for the next pen pal installment, so very proud of her work. (Thanks Nana for the letter stamps!)

One of my favorite places to hang out with the kids in our new house is on the bed - it's big and soft and (shhhh!) you can jump on it sometimes. You can cuddle up or wrestle, Clara and I read the Bible and pray on it in the morning, Harry likes to crawl off the edge while we barely catch his feet (he thinks this is Hilarious). It's the perfect place for sweet unstructured times with my littles and I love it. Here's some silliness that happened this afternoon before naps on and next to and climbing up on said bed.
