We have had two relatively successful days of home searching, and are scheduled to go out again Tuesday afternoon. While in our price range there (so far) are no "gotta-gotta have it" homes, we do have one on our radar which could be the object of an offer as soon as the end of this coming week, depending on how Tuesday pans out.
And (drum roll), we are happy to report a ever-growing confidence that Riverside Community Church (home of the Coffee-Break Service) may be the next church home of the Frisco's! We just returned from our second week attending Sunday services. Clara came with as our undercover nursery agent to do some reconnaissance amongst the little ones, and her debrief was positive. We have been invited to attend a newly-forming small group in October, and are going to go to a Newcomer's dinner with the elders this coming Friday evening. This week got to hear our first message from the Senior Pastor Walt Barrett, who is beginning a series on the book of James, and it was awesome. There are some freakishly wonderful similarities between Midland Bible and Riverside, from messages to friendliness, and most amazingly, the obvious work of God and His Word in the daily living of the people worshiping there. So, everything is slowly moving forward. This week has a lot in store, including the possibility of a home, plugging into a possible new church home, my first Elgin Symphony concert this weekend (with Itzhak Perlman!), and the Gators taking on their first test of the season with UT. Every week seems to bring new hope and more clarity!
