I have to say, I think that this Saturday was one of the best in quite a while. Mike took Clara on a date to the zoo! What a lucky girl - special alone time with her Daddy! She got to pet a pig, hit a turtle (evidently it was "gentle"), watch a sheep get sheered, quack at ducks, see a goat, fox, raccoon... The list goes on. I think Clara was startled to learn that horses and cows and sheep are Really Big. Mike said he could see her reloading some information into her brain when she saw them - it's pretty different than when they're in a little book! Here are some of the shot's Mike got.
And then...
Last night we got Clara up after being asleep for an hour and a half to go the the Balloon Glow in Elgin. There were about a dozen hot air balloons set up at Festival Park and we got to see them at night, glowing! It was so beautiful! I choked up - the music, the people, the balloons! I'm telling you, it was a cool, cool event. Clara really liked it, I think, and would applaud and shout whenever the balloons lit up. Although, they fire was really bright and she sometimes had to cover her eyes with her bunny.
