Easter 2007

Easter with the Frisco's. We had some super-fun moments, I have to say. And...I had some harder moments, too. Fun stuff first.

Our friend Leslie was in town; she left Midland last Spring for the Big City of Houston and the Love of her life; it was soooo wonderful to reconnect. Leslie, so Wonderful, really! She came over along with Craig, Caryn, and Morgan for a little Easter egg colorage. You gotta love the holiday crafts!

And, last night - Easter Eve - we had some of the guys (and their familias) from the Lone Star Brass over for Easter Taco Soup. (Classy, I know. My mom wanted me to make a ham - much more Eastery.) Such fun, low-key fun, my kinda fun.

So, we think that Clara is starting to really get in tune with her little will. Although, lately it has felt like her lotta will - she can be Very Determined and Very Loud. Maybe, she's just testing her boundaries - seein' how far she can go. Either way, it makes for some hard times for mother. I'm used to a sweet, smiling, compliant Little Bit - so any amount (and I'm sure what we are experiencing is minimal) of discontent with the baby causes my nerves to get all jangled up. I do firmly believe, however, that I would rather deal with this kind of thing now, at 6 months, at one year, at two years rather than at 12 years. So, I persevere - with the support and wisdom from the main discerner in my life. (That's Mike, in case you didn't catch it.) I think that we are just transitioning into a new phase of parenting, so let the Games Begin!

- Clara called Caryn to coordinate - that's when you know you have a Good Friend! (top middle)
- Clara and the Baker's - rocking, as usual. (top right)

Okay, so one last thing. As I write this, Clara is in her crib - you know, hanging out - oohing, aahing, and playing with her panda. When she pulls his foot, he plays music and laughs. I have a seriously sweet Wee One.
