Playdate

Clara and I had a play date with a friend and her kids (we went through Growing Kids with them) to a great park district park that had a playground and a Waterpark! It was so cool, and free! Unfortunately, about 30 minutes after being there, one of my friend's kids got injured and they had to go to an Urgent Care. Poor thing - 6 years old - had to get 6 stitches in her little knee. Clara and I still had gobs of fun, though.

this is the location of the injury, mere moments later... turns out wobble bridges can tear this skin right off a kid's knee!

this is actually a little tunnel that Clara kept crawling through

These last two weeks Clara and I have been going to Aquababies - a little swim class at our poark district. It was 4 days a week for two weeks and, I'd say, a success. For the most part, Clara really liked it - especially "motor boat" and "the hokey pokey," anything that involved spinning. And, she loved jumping off the side of the pool. The part of the class that was Complete Torture for her was laying on her back and floating. She tolerated being dunked, but it tended to put her in a bit of a Mood. But, all in all, as the first class we've taken her to ever, it was successful.

I caught her reading in a drawer from her desk during room time this week. She pulled it out, cleaned everything out of it, and read in there for, like, 20 minutes! Perfectly toddler sized.
